Okay, there is no draft order. We're doing this tourney vegman style. Draft all six of your beers at once and try to mix up the styles. We are still hoping for one more team to join up. If you like six beers post them in this thread and you can be in the tourney.

Match-ups are going to last one month each. When voting, please post which of the beers you yourself have actually tasted. You don't need to post a review or a picture, just a list. The more beers you've tasted from each team, the more your vote will be worth.
to wit:
at least 1 beer from only one team and none from the other: 3 points for your vote
at least 1 beer from each team: 7 points
at least 2 beers from each team: 8 points
3: 9
4: 10
5: 11
all beers from both teams: 12 points max
So take your time. No need to vote first thing today. Try to see if you can find some of these beers in your hood. Maybe someone will find a way to get them to you?

Drinking an uneven number of beers from each team will not increase your vote's point value in this tourney. However, it will get you drunk so you should definitely still do it if you have the chance.
Good luck, players.

Personally, I'd like to keep the tournament quick but substantial, restricting each team to include four beers, any style. What do you guys think?

The main problem I see is that a lot of people voting (or even picking for that matter) have not tried all of the beers that have been selected.

to be fair, I know very little about any of what I vote on in these tournaments. Has anyone really listened to backspacer?

What's a backspacer?

Is everyone going to make a team of beers and we vote for the team we like the most?

Yes. I think everyone will draft four beers (any style of their choosing), and then a randomizing app will set match ups. Contestant A might face Contestant E, for example. The winner goes on to the next round, etc etc.

With the first selection of the Second Annual RM Beer Tournament, Chris picks:

Miller Lite

i dont think shitty beer will help just because everyone has had it, but if you pick somehitng that you had in a random brew pup that isnt distributed to anyone else, then it might be fantastic but it wont get you any votes because no one has had it.

That's a ridiculous notion. We have enough beer scholars on this board to make both selection and voting interesting and educational. I would expect people to look up beers they don't know and vote on the team with the best looking brews.

In other words, voting would be a lot like ordering a few rounds of local offerings in an unfamiliar town. Something that all beer fans I've ever encountered love to do.

Great. So that's three so far, correct? I'm willing to run a tournament of four, but ideally eight people would be more fun. What do you guys think?
