Yes I’m a coffee shop guy, hard core. My platonic ideal is a Cafe Grumpy quality latte in a greasy diner-like setting. They are rare! But there is such a place in Bozeman that is in an old warehouse in an industrial area. Its directly adjacent to a construction supply lot and some farmland. I sit on the old Econoline bench seat they threw on the porch and watch the forklifts go about their business; sometimes a falcon will dive for prey in the fields. The latte is perfect. Heaven.

I latch on to a good shop for a while, but they always end up closing or else I end up moving. The people behind the counter are what keep me coming back.
Seldom do I hang out at coffee shops anymore, but sometimes I'll stay to do work. Been years since I've just let myself settle in and read a book in a coffee shop.

there was one decent coffee shop in town that i used to frequent. when my wife and i were courting we'd go there some mornings to meet up for a coffee before heading to our respective jobs. a couple of years ago it was bought by an older couple, and they turned it into the most basic ass place imaginable. bland af.
I'll also add that my wife and i were married at one of our favorite shops, which is less than 20 miles north of us. a very intimate setting with a few friends each. i've gotten comfortable making coffee at home now, so it's rare we hit one up anymore.
i'd say i'm more of a coffee guy these days.

I work from home and sitting alone in a dark room gets to me, so I usually spend a couple of hours working in a coffee place just to have some background noise. I chat with the baristas and nod to the regulars, but mostly I just work in the corner. Comfortable seating is a big bonus.
