I always put my bread immediately in the fridge, so I never throw out moldy bread. The only food I ever end up throwing out is sometimes when my mom gives me something from her garden that I don't know what to do with. I keep putting off figuring it out until it's too late. I always feel extra bad about that, though. Because of all the love that went into growing it.

Bread wasters: Stop it! Refrigerate your daily use bread; freeze your hot dog and hamburger buns, then just thaw/toast/grill them when they're needed; make bread pudding out of your leftover fancy bread, and make croutons out of all other leftovers.
no way thawed bread would taste good
For hamburgers and hotdogs? Ain't no thing -- just warm them in the oven/microwave, then toss them on the cooler part of your standard 2-zone grill setup. You'll get a nice toast and subtle grill flavor, and it's really just a delivery device for the meat anyway.
There was talk in the pizza thread about how, really, the not-so-secret secret to a great pizza is the crust.
Not quite as much with a burger but still... Don't discount the importance of a great bun.
