Sometimes when I eat Honey Nut Cheerios I get a lump on the roof of my mouth after that goes away by the next day. Could I be allergic to honey? If yes shouldn't I get a lump every time I eat it?

Probably allergic to something else in the HNC if it doesn't happen when you eat plain honey.

Do you ever change type of milk used? Material the bowl is made out of? Is the cereal expired 10% of the time?

Sounds like the rough texture of the Cheerios is irritating the roof of your mouth, causing swelling or possibly even bursting small blood vessels.

Maybe if he's eating them dry. If he's going the traditional with milk route then I find this theory dubious.

Nope. Adding milk to the equation doesn't change anything, unless you're letting the cereal get soggy.

It acts as a lubricant, decreasing the friction between the cheerios and the roof of your mouth.

I probably use less milk than most. Soggy Cheerios makes me cranky.
