Yes. I've had a variety of different homemade ones at nice restaurants (sriracha ketchup, etc.) and they all still taste like ketchup. If you can't make food that tastes good and need to include ketchup with it, maybe don't make it?
The only place I will eat it is on a burger, but I don't put it on there myself. I just got used to fast food burgers coming with it, so if it is already on, I'll eat it.
I used to not be this way, but as I've grown older and appreciated good food more, I've learned to dislike it.
