I have never had, nor considered having, Walmart brand anything, so I can’t compare. But I can say that Tillamook is pretty crappy.
We prefer Cabot sharp cheddar among the commercial brands.
a few years ago, my wife's older brother was in town for Christmas, and he was making something for himself. He gave us so much shit for having Great Value cayenne pepper. so much so, that I finally told him to feel free to go buy the very best cayenne pepper in all the land.

I've never had Walmart cheddar, but I can imagine what it tastes like. Really the biggest issue with American cheddar is texture. I've not found one that is crumbly. They all have that weird plastic texture.

you ever bite into a really good cheddar where you get those small, crunchy bits while chewing?

I dunno, these are pretty good.
Sure, but are they a great value?
It depends on your values. Tillamook does not make stellar cheese, but they maintain a significant role in the ag sector of Oregon, employing almost 1000 people in their county and serving as a crucial backbone of the OR dairy industry. Not exactly nothing.
