I don't really like to eat lunch, but i get up considerably earlier for work now than before (5:30am compared to 7 to 7:30am) and am near starving by the end of the day.
however, i don't like bringing in leftovers from dinner etc because it usually involves having to store food in the company refrigerator which is already overcrowded, and then having to heat it up in the microwave and that doesn't sit well with me in a corporate setting - call it a neurotic tic or whatever.
anyway, i need suggestions of compact, easy to eat, not completely junk lunch type food to have for work.

I eat a lot of applesauce and granola. Keep it right in my desk.

why don't you just go out like successful people do?

there's no place to go out "to" around there for one - my lunch break is only half an hour, oh, and it's f-ing cold in upstate New York in february

I mean, i'll use it but i just started working there, it's a weirdo corporate culture, and i am still feeling quite out of place there at the moment... nm, it's hard to explain without sounding like an idiot.
what's your suggestion?

no, i get it. using the m/w seems too "settled in" at the moment. eventually, when you're ready, perhaps some instant miso soup could be the answer.

I've been bringing chicken, beans and rice to work the last few weeks. It tastes ok and it's easy to make.

what if she posted her question from work, though? Then she would be speaking from the place to which she wanted to have the food, so "bring" would be correct.
