Are heirloom tomatoes significantly different from regular tomatoes?
yes. Most varieties of them taste way better than the standard red hothouse or whatever. A lot are more sweet and less acidic, although a few still have some bite to them. Just wonderful.
Interesting. I think I'm gonna try this meal. Are they easy to find, or do I have to seek them out at special places?
Well, you can find them at decent grocery stores but are usually pretty expensive. I lucked out because my friend owns a nursery. Try a place like whole foods (but not whole foods because they suck). Fresh Market, Publix, something like that.
Thanks, will do. And thanks for not being a jerk like Kaius. What a jerk.
If you want sweeter ones, generally the dark red/purple varieties are just that. If you like a little more acidic, go with the yellow/green/pink ones. This isn't always the case but usually it is. My favorite is the one that is a dark red/purple with a green "crown" on top of it. They are sweet and delicious.

I made myself a stir fry of chicken, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, and orange bell peppers. The chicken was marinated in teriyaki over night. Delicious.
