As a person of Lebanese descent*, I find the concept of pickles in shawarma gross

*I am using my Lebanesce descent to legitimize my personal preferences.

It's easier than you would think. I won't dirty up Jorge's thread with pickle talk after this, but use a champagne grape based white vinegar and it's bomb.


And do not intermingle your Shawarma into the pickles.

I think I've only ever had doner, which is obviously amazing. I really need to educate myself on the differences between doner, shawarma and gyro.

My local Turkish restaurant uses the terms doner kebab and shawarma interchangeably. Truthfully I'm also a bit iffy on the difference.
