Went to this distillery yesterday and a dear friend bought me a bottle... it's really good. I am a happy girl.

Having a garden overrun with mint and plenty of yard-work to do yesterday a bottle of Temptation Bourbon was decimated in a julep fashion.

Tasty enough for a cheap option.

I picked up a bottle of this today. splurging to celebrate paying off my studen loan. I'm super excited as i've only had it once before and it was so smooth and so good.

I tried some Laphroaig 18 the other day. Fuck me it was intense. I enjoyed it for what it was but I don't think scotch is my thing, I'll stick to bourbon and whiskey.

Don't judge scotch based on Laphroaig and Lagavullin or any Island scotch really. Well, Oban is teriffically drinkable. Laphroaig and Lagavullin are extrordinarily intense.

If you like Bourbon, I think you will very much like a good highland scotch especially Macallan. It's got everything I love about whisky but it's a milder drink than most american whiskeys.

I really like Lagavullin, but Laphroaig is a different animal. Great point though about judging scotch based on them.

I've only had Oban 14 a couple times but enjoyed it when i've had it.

Thanks for the advice. I know basically nothing about scotch. I'll look for some Macallan for sure.

Laphroaig 18 has nothing on the 15, which is pretty hard to come by now. Oban was the first whisky I ordered and said, fuck I gotta drink this now. To each their own.

Highlands will always be the non-peat fan's drink of choice, with many to choose from it just makes sense. If you feel a sense of taste for the peat/smoke end of scotch Bunnahabhain and Bruichladdich are fair places to start from Islay, Caol Ila if you like what you taste to move on.

Just poured myself a snort of Talisker 25 and I should kick my own ass for not enjoying scotch more recently.

Trade it in for three bottles worth the price tag.

Whiskey, whiskey on the shelf, you were so quiet there all by yourself.
Things were fine till they took you down, opened you up and passed you around....

I've only had JW blue once and id be lying if i said i did not enjoy the hell out of it!

There are some single malts i've had that i do enjoy a lot more though, but to each their own. We all like what we like

I got a bottle of the Famous Grouse (the black one) which is a blend and it has a little peat in it. I actually didn't mind it and i'm generally not one for a blend.

The problem is the Famous Black Grouse is only 4 dollars cheaper than my Balvenie 12 which is my go to bottle and it is not as good as the Bal 12 to me.
