I'm glad more restaurant bars are offering whiskey pours in a variety of sizes. Tried four types of rye last week for not that much money and walked away feeling reasonably warm and fuzzy without being totally sloshed.

Stranahan's and Redbreast 12 are both just... just outstanding.
have you tippled the redbreast 15 by chance, praise heaper?
Unfortunately, no. I have not had the good fortune, yet.
me neither
Let us know if/when you do. I'd be interested in your thoughts.
I'm going off of memory, but I remember Redbreast 15 having a little more body and sweet spice (not over powering) to it. Still enjoyable and worth it.
How was this? I think I got a bad bottle, and it had an odd metallic tang to it. One of the few bottles I've poured out.
Yea, that's weird -- sounds like a defect (though I've no idea what that defect might be?). But it was really good, for a blended whiskey. Some of the bite up front you'd expect with a rye, with some of the smoothness at the end you've expect from a bourbon. Nothing amazing, but super enjoyable.
