I'm quickly finding that you can't play around with portions and basic ingredients while baking the way that you can when you cook on the stove.

I'm all like "I think I just need to add a tad more milk," and the cocina gods are all like "Don't you do it... Don't you do it...."

And then I still do it.

I think on my next day off I'm going to attempt kolaches. Never tried before, but it's one of my all-time favorite pastries. We used to pick a few dozen up from Hilltop Drive-In every year at Thanksgiving.
