didnt turn out too bad, it is definitely a strong whiskey drink, so if you dont like the whiskey then you probably wont like it, but it was good to sip on, but i made a 2nd and it was a bit much, i had had enough of the combination of the strong whiskey flavor with the sugar from the simple syrup. so if i have one again this weekend, i will only do 1 and switch to somehting else if i want to drink more

cut out the sweet bs and just drink straight rye

Picked up some Amaretto and 151 proof Rum to try out a Flaming Dr. Pepper.

3/4 shot amaretto almond liqueur
1/4 oz 151 proof rum
1/2 glass beer

1. Fill a shot glass about 3/4 full with amaretto and top it off with enough 151 proof rum to be able to burn.

2. Place the shot glass in another glass and fill the outer glass with beer (right up to the level of the shot glass).

3. Ignite the amaretto/151 and let it burn for a while. Blow it out (or leave it burning if you're brave - not recommended) and slam it. Tastes just like Dr. Pepper.

Well I'm not sure yet I haven't tried it, I'll let you know. Hannibal Buress recommended it and it sounded good.

A couple of friends and I, whenever we're together, have beer with a shot of Jagermeister in it. It has a similar vibe about it.

Some of these drinks sound pretty good. I'm pretty much a beer guy these days but I still enjoy a shot or two of whiskey here or there. Especially Makers Mark.

Do you guys have a sort of "test" drink that you like to order at an unfamiliar bar that you can use to tell you if their cocktails will be up to snuff or not? Mine used to be the old-fashioned, but that's too risky. If they mess it up, you're stuck with a ten dollar drink that you don't like. Lately, I've been ordering a simple Hendricks and tonic for the first round. If it comes with a lime, then I'll stick to simple stuff. If it comes with a cucumber, well then, I know that the bartender knows.

I'm in NY area. I always want my drink, but bartenders don't know how to make it here. Out west in California, and actually Hawaii it is well known. It's called a TOKYO ICED TEA

AMAZING

It's very similar to a long island iced tea. It's green though. Google it

Anybody hear of TITOS VODKA?

My cousin swears by it and left me a bottle. It's in my freezer, I haven't touched it yet

Assuming the bar you're at doesn't offer Dripping Springs, of course. But what are you doing ordering drinks with vodka anyway?

Yes!

Is it really known and any good?

It is in quite a few bars here, but I can't speak to the quality of it because I don't know vodka very well. As I mentioned a post or two above, Dripping Springs is supposedly "better." Or at least produced in smaller batches.

Tito's is pretty good. I don't drink vodka a lot but I've found it above average when I've had it.
