It's not too often my wife is completely wowed by something I make, but last night's Mississippi pot roast got a rare 10.0 from her. She raved about my ratios, which is the ultimate compliment from her since she's the most intuitive saucier I know.

Nothing needed but a crock pot, some beef and veggies, some butter and some seasoning packets, but man you've got to get it all just right.

Wait a second...

Right before I put the lid on, my wife peeked and nudged me to put a little bit of the juice in there with 'em. Her secret ingredient and the key to it all... She was really complimenting herself all along. :shock:

I seared three bone in pork chops at lunch. Tossed them in the crockpot and smothered them in minced garlic and brown sugar. About to find out how it went.

i've got short ribs going in the crock pot with a red-wine sauce that i'll serve over mashed potatoes. we shall see. it smells good at least.
