this year was thinking to throw some ancient grains in there alongside the meat and veg since they take so damn long to cook normal style

bought the alternate slow cook glass cover for this thing, and it improves its slow cooking ability greatly. we made mississippi pot roast that was off the chain.

I finally got myself a crock pot. I'm making a simple ham and bean soup to start out, but I'm really looking forward to getting a little bit adventurous with it.
I read through the thread a bit and definitely plan on trying the kalua pork and the Mississippi pot roast.

I picked up some lamb from the store and want to make a lamb stew. I've seen some recipes but want to get some other ideas. Anyone have any experience with this?

brown the lamb in bacon fat to start then proceed to throw in whatever you want like you would with a beef stew
