Happy about having several days off now. Think I'll have a cheeky Wednesday beer.

If you're coming to Georgia you need to check out Creature Comforts brewery out of Athens, Ga. Tropicalia IPA is the year round flagship and Reclaimed Rye also year round is excellent. Cosmik Debris is a seasonal double IPA you might enjoy but they have a lot of one offs that are great too. This is probably the best brewery in Georgia right now.

As for Atlanta, Not sure where you are going but if you can make it out to Decatur (short Marta ride on the blue line going east from 5 points) there are a few nice little breweries and a very good pub called the Brick Store that specializes in Belgian ales. Wild Heaven is a Decatur Brewery that's also very good.

My favorite Decatur IPA is probably Transmigration of Souls from Orpheus, but newcomer Scofflaw's The Basement is also pretty good (I believe they are on the West Side). Jailhouse (Griffin) has a good stout called Breakout Stout. There are quite a few keg only offerings from most breweries.

As for IPA's the oldest breweries in town are probably Red Brick and Sweetwater. Sweetwater has significantly improved their IPA's lately and they are the largest independent brewer in town.

Jekyll is in Alpharetta they have a nice tap room and a few decent offerings, Terrapin recently made an agreement with Miller Coors but they have a few good ones like Rye Pale Ale, Wake N Bake and So Fresh and So Green Green. They are in Athens but they also have a brewery at Suntrust Park.

One of the smallest breweries in Georgia is called the Burnt Hickory Brewery in Kennesaw, they name a lot of their beers after Punk Bands or smaller rock bands that they are friends with. The flagship IPA is called Cannon Dragger, but they have another one that adds blood orange I really like called The Didjits.

I think the above is a good start anyway.

Like the area itself there's a lot of good, but you have to find it. We are not a centrally located town, there is a lot of treasure, but you have to find it.

If you need a spot to eat check out Local Three off of Northside Drive. Chris Hall is one of the best chefs in Atlanta and they always have a lot of good local beers on tap and a really outstanding whisky list.

Had to get another 6 pack, these are some of the best IPAs I've had in a while.

Had another beer share gathering at my house last night. We drank a ton of great beers again. Now I have the beer shits. Totally worth it.
