A tap takeover from Boulevard at one of my local waterholes. All my midwestern buddies were pumped.

I thought their beers were all pretty mediocre.

Not a huge fan of their beers but they run a great operation. Love Child is always really good, too.

Smokestack Series is where's it at. Their regular stuff is hit or miss, but they have some really good limited and/or experimental brews.

AHHH! Just realized the first Texas Hopslam release is happening this week. We juuust missed it last year, considering Bells came to the lone star state in March of ‘17.

A friend asked me the other day what a good price for a bottle of Canadian Breakfast Stout was. I replied that I didn't know but my rule is pretty much $15 limit, regardless of what it is. I feel like if it's rare (like CBS) and more than $15, you can usually find something you'll enjoy just as much for around that $15 price point. I'm probably missing out on a lot keeping with this rule, but it's made me a much happier beer person.

Now that rule doesn't apply to sours or Jester King one-offs. Color me hypocrital.

Oh, shit! Cigar City is distributing in Texas. I’ve had Jai Alai a few times, but tonight I’m reaching for Guayabera Citra Pale.

i'm so happy they went to 4-packs. in today's day and age, there's no excuse for distributing huge .750 ml bottles.

I seldom buy 750’s, but they definitely have their place. If you’re pairing beer with a dinner you’re making for people, those bomber bottles are great.
