I'm enjoying a black IPA from our local brewery. They only brew it around this time of year; its pretty damn good.

Pulp from Greater Good. It's pretty tasty. Got a few Tree Houses, Haze and Julius, for later. Haze might be my favorite beer. Goddamn it's good.

Bought a bottle of Muskoka Winter Beard, I'm going to see if I can control the urge to drink it and age it instead.

I had beer delivered today... anyone heard of Hopsy? They had a promo, 4 32oz growlerettes for $20 delivered...I ordered one that was supposed to be delivered Tuesday and I ordered the wife one as well... they screwed up the shipping so they refunded mine but gave me the beer, so I got 8 32's delivered for $21..

I was at an amazing beer store in Lynchburg, VA yesterday.
Victory black forest stout
Founders Sumatra
St. Peter's cream stout
Noble Rot
Hardwood Gingerbread stout.
And my friend got a Chai High from Avery that was pretty good

I was in Old Town San Diego last week looking at Yelp! and there were 20 breweries within 4 square miles of my location.
It was kinda insane. A beautiful insane.
In four days we hit Societe, Pizza Port, Modern Times, 10 Barrel, Hillcrest, Eppig and Coronado.
Societe's The Pupil is probably the best beer I've ever had.

Plumbus (Berliner Weisse) from 12 West Brewing. A really great post-run beer.

Mailed myself some 7th Anniversary Mexican Cake as well as some Dark Helmet and Amarillo Rinse/Repeat cans from the Westbrook taproom. Being from Texas, visiting a brewery and actually purchasing beer to take off-premise is a real treat. We can't do that here.

I love the dark helmet. Their Mexican Cake series has been hit or miss for me. Nevertheless, enjoy!

The Mexican Cake I tried in the tap room hit the spot. Rich but not cloying. I was surprised at how much I liked Dark Helmet. Kind of a meh style, but this one had a bigger body which set me over the top. Great can art, too.

My wife really liked the Raspberry Gose, but it was only available in crowler. We packed a sixer of regular gose in the checked baggage though. It's almost gone already.
My favorite two beers of the honeymoon weren't from Westbrook, though. I couldn't get enough of Holy City Pluff Mud and COAST Hop Art.

Yeah pluff mud is a standard here. The Hop art is good, they also have a really good kolsch
