I love Guinness. I know that's worth exactly zero beer hipster points, but it's delicious and I never really feel hungover after a night on it, which is worth a lot to me these days.
Same here. I think it's the nitrogen and low abv. It's become a pretty standard session beer for me.
When I moved to Branford an Irish pub opened that same month around the corner, he made it a point to always have Beamish, Guinness and Murphys on at all times. Man I miss Beamish.
Thoughts on Kilkenny? Ireland has so many great beers that it seems bizarre to me that many Irish still reach for a pint of Heineken.

same, though Revolution’s Anti-Hero is a cut above the rest.
I had seen this around, but never tried it. Just picked up a six pack.
Revolution is awesome. And if you’re into barrel-aged beers, they have one of the best barrel-aging programs in the country. Way better than Goose Island and the Bourbon County hype.

Can't say I've seen it. Diageo is based in CT but that doesn't mean a whole lot in regard to distribution I suppose. A full-bodied red with a creamy head sounds like something I would like to try.

Anti-Hero is solid though I don't believe they are distributed in CT. Goose Island can also go fuck themselves. As far as breweries with a large footprint, Firestone Walker has the finest barrel program in my opinion and it really isn't close.

I brought home some beers from my trip to Ohio, and so far I've been disappointed.
A rye brown from Sophisticated Hound in Princeton, West Virginia, and a Cocoa/Coconut Stout from Ignite in Barberton, Ohio both seem very bland to me. Of course, I had a barrel aged Russian stout at Ignite, and that was quite exciting.

Anti-Hero is really good. Not a huge selection around here, but I'll keep my eye for those.

Just poured a Cantillon Kriek as I am not used to not working Friday nights and I really have to start getting through some bottles from the cellar. Younger bottle with the fruit front and center. While I do prefer a bit more complexity, which would come over time, it is still an absolutely marvelous beer.
