The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

reminds me I’m going to need some road sodas for Thursday.
where you headed?
in-laws, most of whom are conservatives and teetotalers, and a BiL who’s coming in from KC, and is not feeling well, oh, and stressed out about getting tested for Covid.
we may just skip out and relax at home. I’ll still need supplies.
What are you up to?
yeah, that sounds like a lot to handle. i just don't think i'm ready for bigger family get togethers.
my wife and son went to our place in Michigan on Sunday. my daughter and i are supposed to head up there tomorrow. my parents are driving up tomorrow to stay with us.
i think i've gotten 25 text messages in the last 2 days from my parents asking about what food to bring (we have grocery stores nearby, but my mom thinks she needs to shop near her and then pack everything) or what holiday decorations my dad can put up. i was on a conference call today and he texted me, called me on my cell, called me at work, and called my wife, all in the span of 1 minute -- wanting to know if i had an extra timer for the lights. i. cannot. deal.
oh boy. sorry, bub.
would your dad like the keys to the dad RM account, if only for a day? let him burn off some of that energy.
he'd call me 30 times wanting me to explain to him how to log on
I once spent almost three hours walking my mom through creating a gmail account, and sending an email. I’d like to think I’m a patient person, but man…

About ready to try my hand at my first pumpkin pie. This may very well fail spectacularly.
So I didn’t have time yesterday to make the pie. I only made the dough (for both the apple and pumpkin pies), which means I have to make it later today when I get to Michigan — with my mother looking over my shoulder and making passive-aggressive comments the whole time because I don’t do things the way she would.

I already need a drink.
oh no.
I’d happily take passive aggressive comments over, “no, you’re doing it wrong.”

pfft get the vegan bird, invite argo over, let him regale you all with how much more he's thought about this stuff than you have
Weird that you took that personally. I wasn't even talking to you (or about myself for that matter lol). You're like a professor of food or whatever, you're obviously smarter than me

No more personal than any other post. RM is still primarily a good time waster and stress outlet for me, and occasionally source of good art finds.
Hope you have a really nice thanksgiving and that your food tastes and feels great.
