The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I dont really use anything after expiration date. My problem is I forget some shit is in my fridge and when my family comes and visits they point out its months past the expiration date.

There was some programme I saw that said most expiration dates are really best by dates. It went on to explain that it usually is to cover the company from litigation and also it is the manufacturers interest for you to discard and replace the product as early as possible.
I trust my nose, well my wife's nose. Dairy products usually have a few more days on the stated date.

Along with milk, I'm pretty strict with yogurt dates. Anything like cereal, crackers, chips...as long as they're not so stale that they're nearly inedible, I don't really care about the date. My fiancee usually tosses these, though, so it's an eternal struggle to get to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch before she does.
