It is vexing to Americans when something is closed for the entirety of your visit somewhere. We’re not used to it.
When we visit Australia over Xmas, the town’s local bakery shuts down for several weeks for the holiday and it sucks. They have really good meat pies, pasties, and sausage rolls.
