CFS still doesn't do anything for me. Maybe I haven't had a good one?
Yeah, the LeanCuisine is no good, you've gotta spend the extra few dollars and get the Marie Callendar CFS.
I'm on a budget, Tommy.
You've gotta treat yourself every now and again, Self.
If I'm gonna spend the extra few dollars for the Marie Callendar, I'd probably get the lasagna. I don't know what those little brown things are, but they have an okay texture.

It was definitely originally "Udd Brudds." When someone first said "Udd Buds" (it might have been that doodle) I thought to myself---"Oh that makes so much more sense. Brudd is not a word."

Every Friday I have a standing lunch meetup with some of my bros at Hughie's Tavern & Grill. Hughie's is a special kind of place -- family owned and operated with a menu featuring traditional Vietnamese dishes and 20 rotating craft beer taps. His taps are mostly local, but the really good stuff from out of state always makes it on to his tap wall before most other places in town (KBS, Bourbon County, Alpine Nelson, you get the idea...)
Anywho, in addition to this wonderful Vietnamese and craft beer assortment, there's also a chicken fried steak on the menu. For a while I was curious about this dish, at times coming so close to ordering it only to call an audible when the waitress turned to me.
Well, last week I finally tried this offering, and I'm very happy that I did. This wasn't the best CFS I've ever had, of course, but the uniqueness of this particular iteration was well-executed. A little bit of sesame blended into the breading went a long way and was complemented by a subtle sweet and spicy soy glaze on top. This was all served with some very crispy fries and a kale salad. To wash it all down I had an Odell 90 Shilling, which is kind of my go-to beer if I know I'm going to be eating a big meal and red meat is involved. Paired well.
I say I'm going to order it again when I meet up at Hughie's tomorrow, but in all honesty I'll probably go for a vermicelli bowl at the last minute.
