guys, there's a chili pepper in the chili's logo.

it's a Mexican restaurant that happens to serve other things...like ribs.

Dad, I don’t know how to break this to you but when I go to a Chinese restaurant and they want me to know that a particular dish is spicy, they use a picture of a …. Chili.

Haha, yep.

Clearly, Chili’s is just cherry picking the most popular restaurant dishes from the last 20-30 years and cramming them into a vaguely Mexican/Sports Bar environment that most folks will associate with a relaxed, good time. It’s lowest common denominator stuff, but it works - should we hail or hate them for this? Do they have avocado toast yet?

Jorge start a new thread if you want about this (or see if you can steal the idea from an existing tweet and present it as your own here): if Chili’s is a Mexican restaurant, then Red Robin is a German restaurant.

That sounds a bit too much like the "is a hot dog a sandwich" debate that all the most boring people in the world love to talk about

It's tex-mex, but extremely northeastern Texas.
