Is the practice of removing your hat while dining unknown to Americans? Do they just not care? Is it just a Midwest thing?

Help me out here, folks. I thought this was common knowledge.

What if you’re incognito spying on your wife who’s cheating on you with another man?

People wear their pajamas in public. Wearing a hat at a casual restaurant is the least of our worries as a society.

The other day I was thinking how fun it would be to be a private eye. We should start a firm.

This is a dying practice, even in the south. I was raised to do it. My parents never really cared, but my grandparents definitely did. To this day, I remove my cap at a table and think of my paw-paw.

Taking your hat off inside is a thing in the US, yes. Less so now thank god, but it's been a thing. I'm all for letting it die. It's complete nonsense. Wear a hat. I promise the world won't end.

Similar.

My grandfather cares about this a lot, so I don't wear a hat at the table if he's there. But otherwise? Yeah, I'm probably wearing a hat.

I don't trust people who don't own hats.
