I have so many Oxo utensils in my kitchen it looks like a showroom.

i went back to the OP, and read the first few pages, but i didn't bother searching for an offshoot thread about handwashing dishes. i'm definitely on board with those who enjoy it. there really is a zen-like quality to it. i didn't grow up with a dishwasher in the home, and i attribute that to my love for doing such a simple task. it's also why i--even though we have a dishwasher now--i'm not as trusting in the job it can do vs. my elbow grease.

have any other RMers bought this one, or trust this guy?

I don't have Six Seasons but I know a few friends who swear by it and the recipes they make look amazing. My wife got me his second book, Grains for Every Season, but I've yet to really dive into it.

I also believe in the zen-like quality of handwashing dishes, though we only do this for pots, knives, and stemware. Everything else goes into the dishwasher. Don't sleep on the zen of a well-loaded dishwasher that's packed to the absolute max.

I have lost that sense of zen somewhere along the trip, I'm afraid. Maybe that book is just the trick I need to find it again.

If the dishes get washed and one has an opportunity for zen in the modern world, can you really call it a waste?

My dishwasher hasn't worked in like 7 years so yeah dad please come wash my dishes. Wash them hard.
