** sauce tastes amazing. Almost like a warm red wine. Somehow.
There’s no wine in there.

Any good/recent cookbook recs? I've been tearing through Chicano Eats this summer and really enjoying it, have Alon Shaya's on deck but also looking for some variety.

Oh fuck yeah, literally just watched the Bourdain episode where he goes to Juhu last night. Didn't realize they had a cookbook out.

we have friends where the wife is always complaining about never being able to lose weight. she drinks every night. and last night her husband let on that every dinner that she makes is out of an ina garten recipe book. i'm not sure there is a recipe of hers where she doesn't use 20 sticks of butter.

the wine yes, absolutely

the saturated fat, not directly. Probably clogs her arteries and makes her feel sluggish, and therefore not prone to exercise.

But eating fat adds a lot of calories that also make you fat so... yes directly.

I love a good Barefoot Contessa recipe, even have made a few Paula Deen ones before, but that's not every day cooking.

I subscribed to the other two for years then realized I had many years of recipes to get to without getting any new issues so I canceled.
