we ate them like that a lot
when do you think the last time was that you ate one like that? for me it was december 31, 1999. i remember we had to take one food from our childhood and recreate it that day for dinner. i was hungover and ran out of time, and so that's what i had.

Here's the thing about doug that I've learned over the years. Although doug's tastes are discerning and impeccable, doug is not one to take the whims, trends, and conventional wisdom of the day seriously, especially when it flies in the face of common sense, economic sense, or general enjoyment of a good thing. doug is the no nonsense anti-foodie we all need to listen to more closely in the time of avocado toast and the $9 banh mi.
