The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

Couple of friends are opening up a new joint. We've been invited to the 'Friends and Family' soft-open next week. Pretty excited about it. Other than the fact it's during the first round of the NFL Draft.

Please tip the servers (assuming they'll let you).

Oh dude!
Good friends are owners/managers/bar managers. We go way back. At least one of our good old friends is a bartender. At least one other is a server. One of the owners was my wife's manager at two different locations in the city and he's always taken care of us. He's a great guy. And we're no strangers to the restaurant world.
We'll totally take care of them. No worries about that.

Sweet. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people go to these sorts of things and think "Yay, everything is free!" They usually don't realize that the staff is getting $2.90/hr.

I feel you, man. That bugs the shit out of me too.
I went to a Tony party one time and the producers didn't want anyone to have cash on them, didn't want anyone to pay for anything. They took care of the tip as a production but asked that none of us tip. And I couldn't do it. I still had to through a few bucks down every time someone handed me a drink or a plate. Just feels weird not to.

Great opportunity, Joey! Nothing like getting an up close and personal look at a new place, especially when friends are hosting. The vibes are so warm that it doesn't matter what's served or what quirks haven't been worked out yet. Hope you have fun.

stopped at Burger King and got a couple of biscuits on the way to work. Never knew they had a chicken biscuit. Tried it and loved it. One of the best fast food chicken biscuits I've ever had.
