I did have some breakfast taco's this morning :\ but i did make them myself and there were spinach in them. Also, maybe i need the protein since ive been lifting.

hey strat, rate my breakfast:

3 scrambled eggs (mix 2 tbsp cottage cheese + splash of almond milk while beating the eggs)
4oz ground chicken thighs
20 oz smoothie (almond milk, pomegranate juice (100% fruit, not from concentrate), ground flax, almond butter, spinach, beets, avocado, banana, blueberries)

This looks like a typical strat breakfast when he is doing what he is meant to do. I give that a 10/10. I like the additiona of cottage cheese, though i don't use any milk for cooking my eggs and stick with a few teaspoons of olive oil.

Almond butter and avocado and ground flax are fantastic additions to a smoothie.

i buy three or four beets and roast them as part of the prep, then add 1/2 cup of the roasted beets to the smoothie as well. can't really taste them, but they're super healthy and a really good addition

my smoothies are now 60% veg, 40% fruit (depending on how one classifies an avocado, i suppose) and they're so dang good

This all looks great, but are you surpassing your absorbable protein limit? You might be able to dial that back a bit.

i...don't know? i lift and swim during the week if that matters

Animal protein is much harder to digest so if you would cut back on any protein i'd start there but im sure you are fine if you continually stay active.

I'm no expert on the issue, but I gather it's become widely accepted that a lot of people are eating too much. There are some guidelines here:

yeah and I don't even know that it's bad for you, but holy cow almond butter is expensive. Better not to waste it if you don't need to, you know?

this is basically my life

Not if you are eating lean meats for dinner every day! Did you even read the chart!?

i chose the qualifier "basically" intentionally, as distinct from "exactly." you'd have a better case if i'd used the latter instead of the former. as it is, i substitute lean meat for beans, and hit every other bullet on the chart.

i stand by my phrasing

last night was a classic strat with baked chicken. Busted out the rice cooker/steamer mix and steamed up some carrots and broccoli.

Dash of olive oil, black pepper, a little bit of ginger.

This morning i've had a bagel and a latte. Oh well. Banana soon.

that makes no sense, though. The entire point of that chart is to not eat meat. I'm not saying that you're not healthy, I'm just saying that if you are eating meat every day, you are not even "basically" following the chart, because the chart is a "basic" guide to how to not eat meat
also you were just talking about cottage cheese and eggs. find your own chart!

meh
