Nothing but red for me. I know very little about wine as compared to beer, but I know I like malbecs.

Picked up some more mid-shelf this week. Selaks, Wolf Blass and Nikau Point from the Hawkes Bay of New Zealand. I also upgraded my set of wine glasses. Fuck I'm sophisticated.

I haven't had wine for years and I used to drink A LOT of wine. I'd go white, easier on the hangover

For the summer, you may like some Rosé. Besides sounding not very manly, and being associated with Grandma's white zinfandel, Rosé wines can be really good, and a great alternative to whites in the summer.

One of my favorite blends that Virginia wineries use a lot is 80% Viognier (white), and 20% Cabernet Frac (red).

a good friend of mine has been storing his wine at our place since he moved back to Vancouver BC last year. For dinner last night I grabbed a bottle of his '05 Chateau Haut Brion. It was fantastic and I'm thinking He'll be pissed since its worth about $400...ha

Great response.

I hate not being able to get Virginia wines in Connecticut but it is always another reason to travel back; Viognier is a great varietal in VA.

Earlier, I finished a box of Bota Box Chardonnay that was in our fridge. I don't quite have the palate to properly judge wines, but it had some thing on the side about winning an award. :?

so I gotta say. I've never been a fan of trader joes with the exception of a few things..anyway, I went this last weekend and saw this Italian sangiovese on the shelf for 3.99 a bottle..I thought I'd buy a couple to mainly use in a pasta sauce..very surprised how drinkable it really is..I think I'll go back and get a case
