I just really like olives.

A martini bar opened up near the place I lived once and ooooooh boy... things rolled downhill for awhile after that.

Olives in Martinis are acceptable. But, again, only if it's a gin Martini.

Here's how my uncle makes martinis: he fills a martini glass with gin and then pretends to add vermouth. Then he drops in an olive

Where I come from, this is also called a Hoosier Martini.

Try an OF with black walnut bitters. Very good.

A dirty martini before a steak dinner is fantastic

Under no circumstances should a human drink a vodka martini.

What if that human doesn’t like gin but really likes vodka?

Aw huh.

Also, that person only likes vodka because it has no taste. It's a complete waste of a drink unless all you're really wanting is maximum drunk.

Potato vodka has flavor though. But it's not great for martinis.

Yeah, there are some decent vodkas that don't distill all the flavor out, for sure. Zamir's vodka is excellent for this very reason. But, in general, I think vodka is a waste. It's a spirit for people who like being drunk but don't want to taste their alcohol. Which is fine. I'm not judging people for that. Just keep that shit out of my Martini.

Also have you ever had a watermelon soaked in vodka on a hot summer day? Tasteless, odorless liquor definitely has a use. :li:

Fair enough. But I'd still rather rather drink gin and just eat a regular watermelon.
