It was good, but i've had better. The portion of the custard was lacking.

Yeah I could definitely just eat the custard by itself. Ideally the sugar on top is a complement to a healthy does of custard. A nice balance.

The more I run, the less I fear industrial sugar in the proper setting. I've taken to a snack of honey graham crackers or brown sugar pop tarts before a long run. Big difference between performance nutrition and everyday nutrition, it seems. That stuff burns off fast and gets me going on a long run. I used to go for whole foods like raisins or bananas, but around mile 3 the fiber content is a...problem.

Interesting. The last few times I’ve had a banana around an hour or hour and a half before running I end up with side cramps after a mile or so.
