I just realized that I've unknowingly been posting a lot about how little faith I have in myself to live by my own moral convictions. Low self-esteem ftw

Has anyone talked about amino acids, complete proteins, and complimentary proteins yet?

I covered that when I said that eating a variety of different plant based foods will meet all your protein and micronutrients needs. Plus, they come attached to appetite-regulating fiber and not to unhealthy amounts of saturated fats.

I'm happy you've done your homework, Argo! My experience is that it's much harder in practice to make those complimentary protein meals regularly, but more power to you if you can make it work.

It's not that hard. For the most part, any combination of legumes and grains is a full protein. Peanut butter on bread. Rice and beans. And you don't need a full protein every time you eat. We don't pee out all our amino acids every hour.

Some people do. It's called "spilling proteins." And I'm skeptical that those meals are that easy -- it doesn't jive at all with other stuff I've read. What's your source?

What do you mean it's not that easy? It's way easy to just Google this, trag. Just search for--- do complementary proteins need to be eaten at the same meal. Or Google--- vegan protein.
Rice and beans, bro. Rice and beans.

Meanwhile, your "protein spilling" seems to be a symptom of kidney damage caused by diabetes or high blood pressure, not the way some normal human bodies function, as you seemed to be implying. And oh hey look, plant based diets reduce diabetes and high blood pressure.

My wife spills her proteins daily and is otherwise the picture of irrefutable health.

"Google it" is not an acceptable answer for me on this one. I really think that for this sort of info, it's best to look at peer reviewed research papers.

Sounds to me like you're playing a little loose with where you're getting your info on this topic. And I swear to God I'm not trying to be a dick just for the sake of being a dick; I'm absolutely crazy for this and related topics, so I hope that you can recognize my earnestness here as coming from a place of caring
