I can't wait for this movie, but oh man do I not want to see the smear campaign that's sure to be coming.

Maybe the wrong word, but I mean the stuff from Fox News, etc. about the portrayal of blacks in general.

Y'know, nothing in the Marvel Universe has been groundbreaking (except for the concept of the MCU), but all of them have been fun (except the Thors). I've never walked out of one of these movies pissed off that I saw it. And this looks like it's going to be one of the more fun movies.
I see no reason to whine and bitch.
Well ... except that the villain is just a dude in a different Black Panther suit.

there is very likely going to be a ‘how does a strong black man confront injustice’ thread running through this, which means a doppleganger works well here

It will be an interesting parallel to Ant-Man's deployment of the doppelganger trope in its own exploration of a similar theme: how does a very tiny man confront injustice

This has to be the Marvel movie I've been looking forward to the least. I know that this is Marvel, but the whole premise of it just seems stupid
Huh. I think this is one of the few I've ever really looked forward to. I'll probably bother to see this one in theaters. Which I haven't done since... what, Iron Man 2? Something like that.

I'll probably watch it when it's up for download or out on Blu-ray, but I'm certainly in no rush from what I've seen so far

Yeah, that's me and most Marvel films. I totally get where you're at. This one feels a little different to me for some reason. Maybe because it looks more fun? More fantastical? I don't know. I love the cast and I enjoyed Fruitvale Station, so I did the director.
