Netflix has some painful kids stuff. This is my daughter's current obsession.

I had never seen Shrek before, but recently tried it on Netflix for my daughter. Did not realize it opened with all the fairy tale characters getting put in a concentration camp.

My 4 year old loves this show on Netflix called Super Wings and it is atrocious.

How does one develop good taste when raising their children?

My youngest is now obsessed with YouTube videos. I can’t even get her to watch regular shows anymore.

That's a good question. Other than his obsession with Christmas music (he falls asleep listening to it ffs) and Minecraft he's pretty much not into anything too egregious.

This new trend of "let's find something in everyone's past" is getting pretty shitty.

While my wife and I agree that the messaging of the narrative is good and all (and it does have some good jokes and stuff), there are a few things that bother us. Did you notice that Elsa never apologizes for plunging the kingdom into an eternal winter? Even in the scene where Anna comes up to her ice palace, Anna starts to apologize and Elsa says, "No, no, you don't have to apologize..." And this would have been the perfect spot for Elsa to say that she's sorry, but she doesn't; to be fair, she hasn't fully "grown" yet, but even at the end of the film, everyone just starts smiling but she doesn't tell her sister she's sorry. Just strange.

One of my boys is officially on the “singing Let It Go from Frozen over and over again” train.

My son still really only watches Sesame Street and sports. We do not own any tablets. How long can I continue to have such control over his viewing habits?

How old again?

My kids get completely hooked in something for a week or two then completely forget it existed. They watch more tv than I would like, but in 2 years they have used their tablets probably less than 10 times.

We let our almost 5 year old have a tablet in the morning on weekends. It's the only way we're able to sleep in anymore. The almost 3 year old is only interested in it when his older brother has it, otherwise he doesn't care.
