I like it, yeah. It’s still effective. But, again, only for SDR content. And I’m sure it would depend on your TV. I can’t imagine there would be any point with an OLED, for example, considering they’re low nit and have perfect black levels already.

All turning up brightness will do is fuck up your black levels. What you want is probably to turn up your backlight (if it’s SDR; backlight should already be maxed out for HDR).

All turning up brightness will do is fuck up your black levels. What you want is probably to turn up your backlight (if it’s SDR; backlight should already be maxed out for HDR).
Yeah, don't mess with your brightness. It will wash everything out or introduce a lot of visual noise. What is your video source for these very dark movies? Some apps have a tendency to be darker than others (HBO Go on PS4 for example).

Generally Itunes, netflix etc...
Now that i think about it...this is more of a problem during the day when i have that fucking sun glare coming through the windows. I think it was most of oceans 8 that i couldnt see a goddamn thing. Not that i really missed anything but....
