It definitely felt like a return to form stylistically. One thing I always appreciated about Shyamalan was his classical skill as a director, and that's back in action here.

There was a ton of suspense just in the way shits were framed or angled, or how long he lingered on a subject. I was on the edge of my seat for a good portion of the movie, and one scene (I can't remember which now) actually made my heart jump.

got to see this today. Great return for MNS. I agree, the marketing was a little misleading. They only deal with 5 of the personalities here, not 23. Even the shrink was great.
And that ending...pretty freaking great.

Up until the reveal; I did not expect that reveal exactly. I thought about Unbreakable a lot during the movie because it has such an X-Men vibe to the dialogue and such, so it would be a lie to say I saw it coming. But I also wasn't "blown away" because it had been on my mind, though I did not expect that exact connection.
Really enjoyed it. McAvoy is outstanding. Tons of fun. Scary, exciting, riveting. It's exactly M. Night. If you liked his first three movies, I can't imagine what would keep you from enjoying this one.

That's about the best endorsement I could hear. Was going to go see this last night, but wussed out on seeing something dark and creepy. Hopefully this weekend.

McAvoy has chosen some really bizarre projects. He did some crazy cop movie a few years back that was borderline ridiculous.
You're talking about Filth, which I'm trying to get through right now. It's not borderline ridiculous - it's pretty much jumped that border and sprinted away from it as fast as possible.
Wow...i just feel in love with MNS again after a break of what...13 years?? My god..this is amazing. Every frame, every shot...the music, the cast....James McAvoy just gave us the best performance in the last decade...And that ending??
