This show is awesome. The first ep was a little unpleasant, but E2 and E3 are both stellar. I would suggest just starting with either of those, as it is essentially an anthology series with no real continuity between episodes.

E2 is a great take on the broad range of lifestyles found in NYC. It's basically two stories told sequentially, and they do intersect. The first half is a little slow, but it's beautifully shot and the payoff is totally worth your time. The second half is easily one of my favorite things I've ever seen on TV. It has a real Edward Albee vibe, it's totally ridiculous and hysterical, and Amy Ryan is one of the greatest working actors.

E3 is told from the perspective of a dog, and it's both heartbreaking and uplifting. Really unconventional and rewarding stuff.

Glad to hear you've stuck with it, VG. Their choice for the pilot is unfortunate; every other episode has been far superior. We are about halfway through the web series, it doesn't feel any different with the exception of the first ep, which seems to be shot on low-grade digital equipment.

¨Grandpa¨ is a masterpiece, but i wont be seeing it again. God.

And the last one was great, i loved the bit about the instagram girl.

Watched the last two episodes last night. Yea, VG, that instagram girl -- that was rough. Sad and painful and honest. Homeless Heidi and her ex-boyfriend were featured in one of the prior web shorts.

The last episode was excellent. The Helen Hunt-obsessed character was featured in one of the best web shorts, when he was taking care of his dying mother and buying weed from The Guy simply for the purpose of having a visitor; he never actually smoked the weed, just put it in that box that was a plot device in this episode. Really, really touching stuff; loved his connection with the transgender palm-reader. "I knew you were going to fall" was terrific. The last portion, with The Guy getting mugged and spending the evening at his ex-wife's girlfriend's house, was interesting. I guess they'll start to expand on his character and personal life next season?

Excellent show. First episode was the worst, it's all aces after that. Bummed it's only six episodes, really looking forward to next season.

The web series (with intros) was better than the first season, but the second season seems to right the ship. I really like this show and all the interconnections across characters and plots.

If they’re not still on HBO NOW, they’re worth seeking out. They definitely have the feel of one long collection of short stories in a shared universe and the brevity of them really help land each arc’s punch line effectively.

Season premier was fantastic. This is maybe the best show on TV that no one seems to be watching.
