The idea is to watch and discuss a different movie every two weeks, picked by a different RMer. This should lead to some cool discoveries and interesting discussions.
If you express interest, I'll put your name into a randomizer and we'll figure out some kind of schedule. When your turn comes, you pick the movie you want the club to watch and discuss. It should be a movie that's available to buy/rent/stream from an online platform. Hopefully something that's not super-duper-obscure so that RMers don't have such a hard time finding it.
I know we're all busy people so not everyone will be able to watch every movie. If we get at least 10 people involved, and at least half of those people watch the movie every time, this should lead to good discussion.

I think that should be one of the things to be taken into consideration when picking each movie. We'll have a better chance of generating some discussion if it's a movie that can be accessed with relative ease. International posters might have a harder time with that but thankfully most everything can be found online, and non-American ISPs tend to be a lot more lax when it comes to torrenting and stuff. Unless you're Australian.

I'd be into it, except don't make me pick a movie first. Also, I think 2 weeks is a good time frame--if we can all agree to watch it in the first 5 days, that leaves a good amount of time for discussion. And the person "up next" shouldn't be allowed to announce their pick early since it might undercut discussion of the current movie (if they do, they'll be exiled from movie club).

I'm in.
I pick Young Guns 2 for my movie.
It's objectively a poor followup to YG1, though I still love it. The cinematography is underrated. The fictitious conflict between Christian Slater and Lou Diamond Phillips is so palpable, I sometimes wonder if there wasn't some real conflict on-set.
Interesting factoid: James Colburn, here playing real-life cattle baron John Chisolm, had previously portrayed Pat Garrett in Sam Peckinpah's Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.
Any opinions on Young Guns 2 held by RMers that are in opposition to my own are wrong.

Trag, shut up. I'm accepting your application to join movie club but the other members of movie club are advised to disregard your movie club pick until your turn comes up.
