Next season is two years away and the show runners say it’s gonna blow our minds.
I’m rusty on my Tolkien lore but I really don’t know or remember what happens next but let’s see
I'm assuming we will get the War of the Elves and Sauron. It won't go well. The Dwarves will come to the elves aid but will be driven back. Numenor will come to the rescue. Sauron will be defeated and taken captive by the Numenoreans which was his plan to begin with to undermine them from within. No idea about Gandalf and Nori....maybe they will go up against the Blue Wizards. Tolkien went back and forth about them ending up good or bad so there is room there. Really no idea about the Southlanders and the elf. Perhaps they save Celeborn since he's got to still be alive.

Curious if they could do First Age stuff. It's a gold mine.
I guess WB only has the film rights to The Hobbit, LOTR and the appendices. So no First Age really. Still the Third Age has tons of amazing stories they could do and they could certainly differentiate themselves from Amazon by actually making something good. I'd be down for the Angmar War, or War of the North, or Wars of the Dragons and Dwarves or War of the Orc and Dwarves.....tons of stuff to do. I guess they have the rights to do Second Age too but I imagine they'd stay away from that for the most part. Hopefully the execs who insisted on turning the Hobbit into three movies, adding a love triangle and other amazing ideas have long since moved on.

Basically just in this thread for the lulz at this point.
This thread is only for those who support the LOTR+ community.

Yikes. I heard they are contractually obligated to make 5 seasons so Amazon is making 4 more regardless. My understanding is Netflix cancels shows that get 50% or less. Assuming that is the standard? Amazon spent a billion on this. They won twitter for a news cycle though so money well spent lol.
