"In the Dark" returned today with the first two episodes of Season 2. This was the true-crime podcast that dealt with the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling in Season 1. This season is about a case I've never heard of, so excited to jump in.
This is very good btw
I need to check this out. I'm so far behind right now though.
I binged on Season 1, and I thought that was the right move: the case was so complex, there were so many people involved, and I was so unfamiliar with the story, that listening to all 10 episodes in just a few days helped me keep track of everything. Now that I'm listening to Season 2 week-to-week, I'm afraid I might get a little lost. If you're not listening yet, maybe wait a month and then listen to most of the eps straight through.

Excellent advice. I think I'll do just that. It'll give me time to catch up on everything else.

Took this advice and listened to the pilot episode this morning. Can't wait to hear more. I thought it was very wise for the narrator to reveal the outcome from the get-go, eliminating a lot of unnecessary mystery in favor of more in depth story telling. I want to know about the breakdown in the process and the perspective of all the people involved.
I wonder if the writers of Stranger Things had the Wetterling story in the back of their head when they wrote the first season of that show.

ST is such an endearing nut job! 70 years old?!?! I feel like he shouldn't be saying 'sick'... not that anyone should... but him especially, for some reason...

I found out about Birbig's podcast "The Old Ones" where he sits down and talks to someone on each episode about his old albums. It's pretty good, especially the talk about the writing process and where he was at in his head at the time. It's a unique idea. He expanded it to a general interview podcast with the latest episode where he talks to Hasan Minhaj and I think it's even better than the other ones.
While I was searching for podcasts though I found an interview with Joss Whedon, Mike, and Ira Glass. It's just an OK interview, nothing great. Honestly the only thing I took away from it is that Sony approached Marvel about putting Andrew Garfield into the schwarma scene at the end of the movie. I had never heard that before.
The Sound Exploder episode on Liz Phair's Divorce Song is excellent. High time I revisited Exile In Guyville. That record was one of the big influences growing up.
