Started the RFK Tapes, but I didnt realize it was a conspiracy theory thing. Too bad, the material could have made for a great show without the stupid mind control crap.
I just started the first ep of U Talkin' U2 to Me? and ... yeah. I should have started here in the first place. Going in order makes everything make sense.

The recent David Goggins interview on Joe Rogan was pretty inspiring.
On the other hand, I'm super disappointed that Reply All made me wait weeks for a new episode only to feature Jason Mantzoukas on Yes Yes No. I'm not the only one who thinks that guy is unbearable, right? His rapport with Alex and PJ actually makes me lose respect for them by association. What a waste of time.
That Reply All was outstanding. I almost feel off the treadmill like three times because I was laughing so hard.

Sam Harris is eating meat, practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and owns multiple firearms? Is he hoping to hang up his skeptic hat and take over for Joe Rogan on UFC commentary?

"Red Bull Radio" is not the platfrom I'd imagine this conversation occurring on, but it's a really good one. Steve Reich talking technique and influences. When he started talking about Africa/Brass I paused and listened to the track in its entirety, then dove right back into the podcast.

Monster: The Zodiac Killer is way better than expected.
I AGREE. I have done a bunch of deep dives on Zodiac before (even bought Graysmith's book last year, though haven't had the chance to read it), so I didn't think I'd learn much, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I've definitely picked up bits and pieces about the case that I was unfamiliar with before, but the best part are the interviews with the people involved (both contemporaneous and the more recent stuff). To actually hear from victims has been arresting, and other witnesses, investigators, and reporters have given lots of cool perspectives. I will probably loop back to Season 1 of the podcast when this one is done.

I thought S1 was good but ultimately fell short. Still worth a listen, to be sure.
This one though is outstanding so far. Glad you're also digging it.

Scott Aukerman is a jerk
Yes
I love Scott
I have now listened to 5 episodes of the REM podcast and it has completely ruined my opinion of Scott Aukerman (though I didn't really have one before). He's rude, smug, dismissive, close-minded, full of bad ideas about how music works (any song that is an instrumental or isn't hooky and upbeat is "not a real song"), not very knowledgeable and not particularly funny. I don't know how Adam Scott puts up with how he's treated by this asshole.

An alarming amount of idiots out there think that if there isn’t lyrics or a good hook or a chorus, it isn’t real music therefore isn’t worth listening to.
*gesticulates wildly at a thousand genres including classical music
