Does he tell any jokes?
There were a couple jokes but mostly it was a speech about why he’s not anti-trans
Accurate, except he does say some anti-trans stuff.
Look, I love Chappelle. Definitely in the conversation for GOAT. But with this special, I feel like he's lost his way a bit. He's been putting "lemme make you think" ahead of "lemme make you laugh" for a while now, but this one didn't really do much of either: it mostly served as an airing of his grievances with the trans community, with the final stretch having him essentially say "This is my view on trans people, I admit I may be wrong, let's talk it out reasonably."
I honestly don't understand why anyone who watched the entire set would be terribly upset; but I also don't understand why he made this the focus of his entire set.
i agree that he talked too much about it, and im happy he seems to be moving from that subject in the future....also I dont have a clue why anyone could be offended by the special, and there were a lot of funny moments.

I'm not sure which I'm more troubled by: that that is the six minutes Louis chose to highlight in order to sell his special, or that I found all of it funny and laughed at every joke. I am sure of one thing, though. I hate that the name of the special is SORRY. I hate it

I watched the new Louis CK special. It was very very good, bordering on great. Had some of the old magic of his pre-2017 stuff, less acerbic. I laughed a lot.

Having slept on it, I’ll say this special represents a new stage in my post-MeToo relationship as a consumer: Here’s a guy who’s work i previously adored; but who’s quality of output had begun to wane for me even before the scandal…
I had no problem pirating his last couple specials, and was fairly indifferent to the material and my choice to watch it for free. But I paid for this one, and I absolutely loved it.
So am I ready to forgive the guy? Or just admit that he did some creepy things and I’m going to disregard those and give him my money?
I don’t know the answer, but I’m thinking about it all, because his new special is not only very good, but there’s a new sort of “winking acknowledgment” to his humor; underpinning all the jokes is the audience’s awareness of what he did, and he seems to be learning to play off that tension to make some really funny material.
Well worth a watch. He hasn't really toned it down or attempted to reinvented himself post-jerk, which is the best possible outcome here. Uptight folks might not like it, but who gives a shit?
