Just watched the first episode of the new season. I can't take too much of a whining Mary, it is awful.

"How is that gentleman that Edith is seeing?"

Mary - "He's nice, and at least he's alive".

Ugh.

Half-way through season 4 and it's been a chore to watch. There's very little spark and a lot of the plot/theme just seems like recycling from previous seasons. I really only keep watching for the acting. I hope Season 5 is the last, I'm not gonna keep hanging on like I did with Dexter.

TV and movies allow me to live in a world where humanity can be condensed into bit-sized chunks that I can consume without the haze of the homicidal rage that clouds my real life.

I was so-so on this season, and perhaps I still am, but the last few episodes have picked up the pace. Some fairly funny moments here.

We just started watching this last week; it's kismet.

We're on S3 and the "Bates in Prison" thing is driving both of us crazy. Let's start with the psychic lawyers (or whatever those guys with wigs on are) during the trial. They were asking questions of the two 'witnesses' that only a psychic would have known they could answer. The whole things seemed from the beginning to be some kind of political thriller angle where he's wanted by the State and theyll do anything to get him. I mean, I don't see anyone going to that much trouble back then (or even now, for that matter) as zealously as they did.

And then in the prison...the same political intrigue where they won't say why he's being treated poorly and it just comes across as 'for the hell of it and we're not going to explain'. It's been awhile since I've been literally mad at fictional characters but everytime they go to the prison it happens. Ugh.

Just watched first episode of this season. I will miss this show. It is such a nice change of pace from everything else I watch.
