The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Could be a really fantastic season of television depending on what the focus ends up being. I kinda liked the "true crime" element of S1 and was really hoping for another true crime story for S2. So, I'm a little bummed that this might not really focus on real people. I'm also concerned by what "The show will broaden its definition of “crime”" means. That sounds worrisome.
It's probably about that cop that shot a guy during the evacuation.
Could be. I was thinking it could also be about that category 5 hurricane that destroyed a major U.S. city.

I assume it will be about the Governments failed action in cleanup and rescue.

That's a bold choice for a second-season topic, especially since Treme has covered the ground quite well already. I don't think Treme was perfect--it's definitely way, way below the heights reached by The Wire and SMAH, Simon's other helmed projects--but it had a very distinct texture that would be hard to top.

It's telling that one of the main guys behind Treme is also behind this. And he insists this will be different.

So is this worth continuing? I watched the first episode and it left me with an overwhelming sense of 'Meh!'
Absolutely
Yes. 100 %.
Embrace the campy-ness, that's part of what they're doing. And enjoy. The first two episodes are the weakest. Then it transforms into one of the best series of TV I can remember in a while. It's fantastic.
