Breaking bad does not belong in the same sentence as deadwood. Or the wire for that matter.

Breaking Bad
The Wire
True Detective
Deadwood

Deadwood loses points for being incomplete. If it had gotten it's full 5 seasons I imagine it would top the list.

By that rational how could True Detective be ranked higher? There are only 8 episodes, its the farthest from being complete.

The Wire
Breaking Bad
Deadwood
True Detective

No west wing. No game.

Though the last season of WW is an undesirable mess.

I'd say that your opinion is in the minority here.

No Mad Men? :shake:

Reaching a consensus for elite TV shows is very difficult.

True Detective is complete because they told the story they set out to tell. Deadwood was cancelled 3 seasons into the story, so it is incomplete.

For sure. I picked those 4 because the 3 I've watched fit the "grim and gritty" mold and I wanted to see how Deadwood compares. I didn't touch stuff like Mad Men, Curb, and GoT.
