And no, I hadn't been following a possible Northern Exposure revival. I heard quiet rumblings, I think, a while back but then I lost track of any news.

Wow, parasol. Nail on head with that Vitalogy comparison. You and I are about the same age and so I know exactly what you mean about that first listening experience. Never connected those feelings with Twin Peaks, but since you so eloquently did, I'll be thinking about it now.

I've never done drugs (in fact, I've never even had alcohol), but I guess that first listen of Vitalogy is the high that I will always chase through art.

I'm 2 (soon to be 3) episodes behind, so I'm not reading any comments, but I wanted to throw out there--in case it hasn't been done yet--that Fire Walk With Me is getting the Criterion treatment this fall: https://www.criterion.com/films/29237-t ... lk-with-me
- They are teasing the return of Cooper sooooo hard - What in the world was going on with Zombie Kid? - I completely missed that it was Donna's sister hiding in the stairwell until I read about it online. That was heartbreaking. - Speaking of heartbreak - Freaking Shelly and Drug Dealer Magician Guy?!

One point I forgot to mention - Cole's "cat on a hot tin roof" shaking. Problems with the left arm are a sign that something bad is coming (I.E. Cooper's arm was hurting before he went to the Black Lodge).

I'm loving this season overall but it's starting to feel like they just stretched their original 9 episodes story over 18 episodes. The pacing, while definitely being deliberately slow, can be frustrating at times.

Agree.
Its getting more difficult to see this one for me. Im one episode behind.
I feel totally the opposite, so much is packed into each episode that it sometimes feels impossible to take it all in. I'm sure I'll end up noticing things on subsequent viewings I missed the first time around.
I like the pacing because it allows the themes and ideas to have some breathing room. I can completely understand why some don't like it, but I feel like they are packing in a ton of ideas in each episode.

The good thing about waiting half a week to watch the most recent Twin Peaks is that all I need to do to avoid spoilers IRL is steer clear of this thread.
What a great episode. That sequence that began with Bobby, Shelly and Becky and ended with the zombie girl was classic TP. The only thing that felt off at all this week was that Viva Las Vegas cover over what looked like stock shots of the Strip.

I like this season and i get this is Lynch and TP and all but...sometimes his decisions are awful. That Vegas montage was awful...deliberate or not, it was awful..the lens was filthy for christ sake.
