Rude instead of odd? Shitty? Maybe not the best choice of words initially
I was gonna say. I think most minorities would find it par for the course.
It is super shitty and rude, though. You're absolutely right about that. And it's why I haven't been able to listen to a full episode of this podcast yet.
What's odd to me is that Spade seems super cool and much better at the job. Based on impressions and bias I did not expect that.

Moffat is a tough loss. He's a great utility player who can anchor a sketch or fill it in with a side character. I'm skeptical he's got enough cachet to have a very successful post-SNL career, but we'll see.
Villaseñor is more disappointing to me personally, but more understandable. I think she's brilliant, but her SNL input seemed to peak a couple seasons ago. She hardly got any screen time last season, and it seems like she's really enjoying creating her own stuff outside SNL. I doubt she'll be as successful as someone like Aidy Bryant -- I don't think she has the professional intention for that, preferring instead to just kind of "do her thing." But I think she's got a strong fan base who will follow her wherever she goes, and she'll probably have a relatively successful, stable career.
No opinion on Athari. He didn't contribute much last season and I'm not really familiar with his work outside SNL.

Listened to the Maya Rudolph and a salon episodes a couple of days ago. The Nealon was a bit of a let-down as Carvey and Spade talked over him quite a bit. There were some little nuggets in there, tho.
Maya was one of the best episodes. Plus, they revealed some sort of documentary Jim Downey is involved with that will show up on Peacock.
I started the Cheri Oteri episode but haven’t finished it. So far, it’s been outstanding.
