That's pretty outstanding.

Not a great episode overall last night, but the Hemsworth-as-bully monologue bit was good and Update's breakdown of Trump was A+. The Time to Bleed video also had me laughing, especially the end.

Last night's ep with Chris Hemsworth and Chance the Rapper was just terrible from start to finish. The onlydecent jokes were about Donald Trump, but they're just not funny because he hosted the show just a couple weeks ago. Makes SNL and NBC look like the ratings machine they are.

I don't understand why Lorne Michaels doesn't just overhaul the entire writing staff at this point.

So they can't make jokes about Donald Trump because he hosted the show a few weeks ago? If anything, the opposite of that should be true. Now, Michael Che can make jokes about what he saw when he looked in Trump's eyes (dollar signs floating in pools of cologne, lol).

I didn't say they couldn't make the jokes; just that I didn't find it funny. Trump has made both racist and misogynistic comments lately. I think he's a bad person, and it's shameful that SNL would let him host just for the potential ratings (not to mention the synergy with his other NBC programs).

The "dollar signs floating in pools of cologne" punchline is not funny to me, because what I hear is "Trump has no soul, but we won't be critical of him if and when he's hosting."

Trump's a bad dude, and SNL has no backbone these days.

The one before Christmas is usually one of the lighter but better ones of the season. And Tina & Amy co-host? I'm looking forward to it.

Next week looks like a winner on paper...plus Bruce is the musical guest.

Time to Bleed and the monologue were pretty much the only 2 good parts of the show, plus the Star Wars toys bit.

Last night's Tina Fay/Amy Poehler co-hosted ep was one of the better ones of recent memory. The best sketches were the Hillary Clintons sketch, Meet Your Future Wife, and the return of Bronx Beat with Maya Rudolph. Rudolph just leaps off the screen for me (she was in another skit too). Wish she was doing more stuff lately.

Springsteen and the E Street Band were fine. They did two songs from the upcoming The River boxset. There's a new/outtake song called Meet Me in the City that's really great; the other song, The Ties That Bind, is really annoying with the "The tie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ies that bi-i-i-i-i-i-i-nd" hook. But Bruce looks great for his age, wish I knew his secret.
